The firm prevailed
on its appellate writ petition in the matter of Cardiff
Equities, Inc. v. O’Neel (2008) 166 Cal.App.4th 1541, which
involved various issues of first impression regarding
contractual arbitration rights.
The firm represented Neptune Management Corporation in
connection with its acquisitions of: Neptune Memorial Reef, LLC,
which operates the largest man-made memorial reef in the world;
American DataSource, Inc., a
trust
administrator operating in the preneed funeral industry; and
Alameda Cremations, Inc., a cremation services company.
The firm
represented the BG Capital Group in connection with its
acquisitions of: Tamarack North Ltd., a construction company
specializing in high-end, custom homes; and M&M Engineering,
Ltd., an industrial mechanical contracting company specializing
in the offshore oil industry.
The firm
successfully represented DoveBid, Inc., one of the leading
global providers of capital asset auction and valuation
services, in a breach of contract case against an international
semiconductor manufacturer. The case was settled at mediation
with the client receiving a substantial settlement.
The firm
successfully represented STAT Freight Systems, Inc. in
prosecuting a defamation action against its Arizona competitor,
RK Express, Inc. As part of the settlement of that action, RK
Express will pay STAT Freight approximately $375,000 and will
draft retraction letters to be sent to the STAT customers who
previously received the defamatory letters.
